Cameron is a city in Marshall County, West Virginia, United States. As of the 2010 census, the population was 946. The city was named for Samuel Cameron, a native of Cameron, Scotland who emigrated to America in the early 19th century, and was the first postmaster of Cameron. The town is known for its historical covered bridge, which is the only remaining covered bridge in Marshall County. Cameron is also home to the Cameron High School Dragons, known for their football and basketball programs. The town is located near the border of Ohio and Pennsylvania, and is less than an hour's drive from the city of Wheeling, West Virginia.
